FUTURE Life Wealth Management’s founder and managing director Jillian Thomas has won the Transformational Leader category of the Forward Ladies Awards 2022.

The national awards recognise women from across the UK who are consistently breaking new ground and achieving excellence. With this year’s theme being “Unstoppable Women,” the awards celebrate women who have overcome exceptional odds to attain success.

Future Life Wealth Management offers a bespoke financial planning service to generators of wealth, typically business owners, executives and professionals, and also to receivers of wealth, such as inheritors, divorcees, widows and retirees.

Jillian said: “Women truly are an unstoppable force at the beating heart of the UK’s economy - and I am truly delighted to have won this award.

“Given the exceptional calibre of the other shortlisted candidates, I’m honoured that the Forward Ladies’ judges have chosen me – and I’d like to thank them, most sincerely, for this accolade.

“My success would not have been possible without the exceptional team at Future Life Wealth Management.

“On a daily basis, my team go above and beyond to create and then safeguard the future financial lives of our customers.

“And I’m delighted to receive the award on their behalf – particularly as it comes on the back of the company being named one of the UK’s top 100 independent financial advisers for the 10^th successive year.”

Jillian established Future Life Wealth Management in 2009 when the country was in the grip of the last recession.

After being asked at that time by a business journalist about this wisdom of this move, Jillian replied: “I do not intend to participate in a recession.”

Over the past 14 years, the company’s turnover and profits have consistently grown year-on-year and it now employs 13 full-time staff at its headquarters in Renishaw.

Earlier this month, Jillian was also named ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ in the Derbyshire Business Awards 2022, which are hosted by East Midlands Chamber.

In October, it was revealed that Future Life Wealth Management had been named one of the UK’s Top 100 financial advisers for the 10^th successive year by specialist industry publication, New Model Advisor.

Designed to demonstrate women’s leadership, enterprise, talent, and innovation, the Forward Ladies Leadership Summit and Awards 2022 event is recognised to be one of the UK’s most prestigious and well-attended business awards. 

In total, 75 shortlisted applicants competed for eleven prestigious awards in categories across all sectors, including Transformational Leader, Emerging Leader, Rising Star, STEM Leader, Inspiring Mentor of the Year, Education/Academic Leader, Social Impact, Start-Up, Female Entrepreneur, Disruptor/Innovator, and Young Entrepreneur. 

The award winners were announced on Friday, November 25, at the Forward Ladies Leadership Summit & Awards 2022 at the Royal Armouries, in Leeds.
