Lockdown - what are we up to? Part 2

Date Published: 27/04/2020 13:11

Our second installment of life under lockdown, comes from our director of operations Keeley Woodcock, who has been trying to make the best of a bad situation.

Well, what can I say ……  Lockdown is certainly proving to be a challenge, but I guess it is about making the best of a bad situation and balancing this with work and family life, although the two Patterdale Terriers, Charles and Vincent seem to be enjoying having Mum, Dad and the children at home with daily walks through the fields and daily paw patrols looking out for the postman.

Whilst continuing to manage a business and its staff operationally, travelling to Sheffield with 5am starts and 12 hour days, ensuring that our client services at Future Life Wealth Management are not compromised in anyway shape or form, home-schooling two children and taking care of elderly parents day to day is really busy. But I keep thinking of the day when we can see our friends, families and work colleagues again; things we take for granted, which I never will again.

I am really missing the routine and schedules of a hectic everyday life, walking into the office to be greeted by the team with a cup of really awful coffee!  But it is little things like this that I miss.

On the other hand, things at home are great, spending most of my day working with my husband, who is also working hard at home, and our two children, who have been baking Victoria sponge cakes for our elderly residents on the street and showing great community spirit in these hard times.  We have also established that they can bake better than me, so my next-door neighbour tells me over the wall.

I would like to send my best wishes to you all, take care and keep safe.

Keeley
